Smart, self-confident women contribute to the success of RECARO throughout all hierarchy levels – as well as across all divisions and business areas. Their motivation and know-how drive RECARO forward and make it the modern and innovative brand it is today.
To give a special mention to the women of RECARO, numerous female colleagues were asked to introduce themselves and to share personal insights by answering one of the following questions: “What drives you?” or “What would you tell you younger self?” Their statements stand for unique characters, strong personalities, and a shared enthusiasm for the brand. Yet another reason for being proud to be a part of RECARO.
What would you tell your younger self, Jadine Inkley?
“Funny one: ‘Dear younger self, there will be a pandemic in 2020, make sure you stock up on toilet paper.’ Serious one: ‘Enjoy the journey that life takes you on, you might be surprised where you end up.’
Jadine Inkley, Department Manager at AAT Composites, Strand/ South Africa
What drives you, Bernice Ferreira?
“I am a results-driven person. I get excited when a task or a project that I have been assigned to is completed within scope, when I have delivered accurate work, and when every deadline along the way was met without fail, but most of all, when changes that were made or processes that were implemented had a positive impact on the business. I’m passionate about learning and acquiring new skills, and I love saying ‘yes I can,’ even if I don’t know yet if that is true. I will always make sure I do the research and ask questions, and I know that eventually I will be thrilled when I overcome the challenge!”
Bernice Ferreira, Master Data Controller at AAT Composites, Strand/ South Africa
What drives you, Christal Adams?
“What drives me is the desire to succeed in life, to make every journey I embark on a memorable one, to show my children that their Mom is a force to be reckoned with. With every step I take in life, I take it with integrity, honesty, courage, boldness, and above all with God’s grace. In times of adversity, turmoil, and heartache, and with the daily challenges we face as women, I remember to straighten my crown and to keep in mind whose daughter I am. That’s a legacy I want to leave to my children – that their Mom is a lioness who fought her way through many obstacles and rose to every challenge that came her way. I thank you.”
Christal Adams, Line Leader Assembly at AAT Composites, Strand/ South Africa
What drives you, Debra Morgan?
“The desire to help others and empower people is what drives me the most. The idea that I might provide a solution to someone’s problem is what motivates me to do a good job in everything that I do. When you are able to help someone, whether a colleague, family member, or customer, it gives you a sense of accomplishment and drive to continue on that course.”
Debra Morgan, Supervisor of Customer Service Quality at RECARO Aircraft Seatin, Fort Worth/USA
What drives you, Tanupriya Ash?
“Being born in a middle-class Indian family, my childhood was not easy. I consider that as a blessing since that made me knowledge-hungry and ambitious. Growing up in a conservative society where a girl child is seen as ‘burden,’ I wanted to set an example for all the women I know that if you dream bigger and work hard, nothing can stop you. I love my independent, successful life.”
Tanupriya Ash, Textile Engineer at RECARO Aircraft Seating, Fort Worth/USA
What would you tell your younger self, Sunitha Vegerla?
“As a woman with an engineering degree, I would say: Don’t doubt yourself. Everyone is capable, but if you doubt yourself, you will be starting off on the wrong foot. There will be people who are willing to help you, but you have to be able to take that first step yourself.”
Sunitha Vegerla, Director of Quality at RECARO Aircraft Seating, Fort Worth/USA

What would you tell your younger self, Adrienne Hautamaki?

Adrienne Hautamaki, Lead Engineer at RECARO Automotive, Clinton Township/USA
What would you tell your younger self, Shereza Altway?
“I would tell myself: not everyone’s opinion of you matters. There will always be someone who’s upset with your decision or choice, and there’ll be nothing you can do to change their mind. Nor should there be a need to. So trust yourself – just do you and be you.”
Sheraza Altway, Regional Sales Director at RECARO Aircraft Seating, Singapore
What drives you, Dina Angullia?
“Continuous learning and growth (both personally and professionally) keep me going and provide a sense of achievement and fulfilment. In this industry where immense knowledge and information exists, there is never a dull moment, and I enjoy learning something new each time, either from overcoming challenging situations and negotiations, interactions with my customers, or internal discussions with the team. “Without a doubt, it’s people who drive me. People with a clear goal and the absolute will to achieve it. People with whom you can move mountains as a team. People who make a difference. People who fall, get up again and keep going. People who identify deeply with their task and are tangibly passionate about what they do. Those who have an opinion, defend it and yet are open to self-reflection. Professionally and privately, it is precisely these people who motivate, inspire and excite me.”
Julia Marzschesky, Head of Human Resources at RECARO Holding, Stuttgart/Germany

What drives you, Maria Janßen?
“I find it very inspiring that in my work at RECARO, I have never had to think about whether I could work better or would be more successful if I were a man. I think it’s great that – at the moment it’s also due to the situation with the coronavirus pandemic – working from home gives me the opportunity to work and still be available for my children at the same time if necessary.”
Maria Janßen, Idea Manager at RECARO Aircraft Seating, Schwaebisch Hall/Germany

Sarah Rackwitz, Program Manager at RECARO Automotive, Kirchheim Teck/Germany
What would you tell your younger self, Karolina Chamera?
“If I could talk to younger me (when I was a teenager, for example), I would say: ‘Nothing lasts forever! Don’t worry about your weird clothes (90s style!), bad haircut, or pimples. You are beautiful and stronger than you know. Be yourself!’ If I could meet with twenty-year-old me, I would say: ‘You don’t have to be the best with all your study work, you already are. Spend more time with your friends, have more fun in your free time, and travel. In the future you will fall in love with exercise – going to the gym and running. But why wait? Try it now!’”
Karolina Chamera, Senior Process Engineer at RECARO Aircraft Seating, Swiebodzin/Poland
What would you tell your younger self, Magdalena Franiuk?
“Asking myself this question made me really think about how much I’ve learned since graduating college. It’s a common truth that with age and experience comes an understanding that is not often taught in schools. My advice to my younger self right now in this moment would be the same as my life advice in general: to take more chances! Especially as a woman in a predominantly male industry, it’s important to also be more confident in your own voice and knowledge. I would tell myself to be open to change, to take opportunities when you can, to work hard, to learn from your mistakes, and to treat everyone with respect. It’s important not to wait around passively. Even if you take small steps, these steps will bring you closer to your goals, wherever they may be. As long as you have defined your goal, you will find a way to get there. Keep up the hard work, but don’t forget to also enjoy life.”
Magdalena Franiuk, Team Leader in Purchasing at RECARO Aircraft Seating, Swiebodzin/Poland
What drives you, Małgorzata Morawska?
“There are two things that drive me primarily, and they are passion for life and exploring the world. I also have a motto I live by: Don’t fall into a routine; otherwise, you will burn out. I have resolutions and everyday habits that bring me closer to achieving my goals. I love helping others; it motivates me. I am happy when I see change in people’s lives. I like to be surrounded by those who emit positive energy, and at the same time I try to share my joy with them. They are part of my life, and they inspire me to learn and become a better person every day. I stick to one of Steve Jobs’ quotes: ‘Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow know what you truly want to become.’”

Nathalie Auer, Junior Art Director at RECARO Gaming, Stuttgart/Germany
What would you tell your younger self, Federica Vavassori?
“I would tell my younger self to follow my passion and develop my skills. To always believe in yourself without fearing the judgment of others, and to continue to team up with women, because together we can make a difference. Family, personal passions, and work can coexist in a very satisfying personal life balance. Go for it!”
Federica Vavassori, Global Brand & Communication Manager RECARO Kids, Grandate/Italy
What would you tell your younger self, Eva-Kathrin Michel?
“I would tell my younger self that whenever she feels not quite ready to do something, she should do it all the more. Every challenge you face will give you the opportunity to learn, grow, and become better, so take a chance! Even taking a step back might bring you closer to your goals. Always celebrate even the smallest win and remember that if they tell you it’s impossible, it’s only impossible for them, not for you.”
