Enthusiasm for historic vehicles, Italian serenity and team spirit – all of this awaited the participants and fans at this year’s Mille Miglia from March 15 to 18. The RECARO brand ambassador, the O.N.S. Porsche 914/6 GT, did credit to its former function as a safety vehicle and started the long-distance race as an escort car.

Enthusiasm that unites

Car fans know: At the Mille Miglia, you can look forward to a unique atmosphere. Along the entire route, old-timer enthusiasts are out and about on the roadside and at village crossings to catch a glimpse of the classic parade and cheer on the drivers. Even other drivers on the road react to the Mille Miglia participants with great enthusiasm and flexibility when another train of classic vehicles is escorted past the traffic by the police. Italian serenity allows driving that is relaxed and yet also dynamic, completely dedicated to the fun of beautiful vehicles.

A strong community

It’s not only the enthusiasm for racing that’s unique, but also the community that develops among the participants. During the three-day race, they become a sworn community that supports and helps each other – for example, if one finds oneself looking for the right route or standing in front of the gas pump without a clue. What is also noteworthy are the numerous volunteers who work with the Italian police to ensure that the Mille Miglia can take place in this form.

Entering the race as a team: RECARO and Artsana get started together

The Mille Miglia was also a community experience when it came to the cooperation with RECARO Kids and the Artsana Group, the new Italian license partner for child seats and baby strollers.

Hendrik Ockenga, Director Brand & Communications at RECARO Holding, and Roberto Bresciano, Industrial Director at the Artsana production site in Brescia, where some of the products from RECARO Kids are also produced, jointly launched the project. Overall, Hendrik Ockenga used the trip through Italy for stops at Artsana locations and visits to Prénatal retailers, Artsana’s retail chain in this segment.
